Hilke Berger is an urban researcher and expert in cultural urban development. Together with re:publicast host Jonas Ross, she takes a look behind the facades of our cities. It becomes clear that the city of the future is much more than a collection of cement or planted house walls – it is a complex network of mobility, coexistence and the urge for individual freedom.
At a time when over 75% of the population in Germany lives in a very limited space, the pressing question of participation arises: how can the different needs of students, pensioners, long-time residents and newcomers be met? How can art, politics and digitality work together to keep the city's former promise of freedom alive for future generations? All of this and much more is the subject of this re:publicast episode, which is dedicated to the city of the future.
